Infrastructure Administrator at Mobclix in Palo Alto, CA

The Systems Administrator/Tools Developer role is responsible for the successful running and scaling of our infrastructure within Amazon EC2. You will also be responsible for implementing and improving tools to monitor and deploy our infrastructure. Our challenge is to implement the most effective solution to handle our 10.5 billion+ monthly impressions in a way that can scale and handle our continued growth, while implementing "green field" features that have yet to be built.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional Linux administration skill
  • 2+ years experience scripting in shell, Perl, or similar
  • Understanding of networking technologies (load balancers) and protocols (HTTP, SSL, etc)
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical systems support
  • A proactive problem solving mentality that thrives in an agile work environment

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with deploying and managing AWS, Rackspace, and/or Joyent cloud services
  • HA planning experience
  • Former use of HAProxy, Nginx, Tomcat, Apache
  • Experience with configuration management tools a strong plus (Puppet)
  • Experience with monitoring tools a strong plus (Nagios, Munin, MRTG, Pingdom)
  • BSCS or equivalent degree
  • Participation in Open Source tools development, especially in the DevOps space
  • The ability to balance high quality work standards against time constraints
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort working under tight deadlines and strong time management skills
